Hello,

Our small business uses the ESI IVX-S phones and lately we've been having trouble with the voicemail directory. When people hear a certain employee's name and hit pound to leave them a voicemail, they are transferred to a different employee's voicemail box. I've used the 6.2 program function to check that all the extensions are connected with the right name, but it seems there is a problem with routing. What can I do to make sure voicemails get to the correct person?

Thanks for your help!

To clarify - our current setup is that the caller is asked to hit the number associated with the first letter of the first name of the employee they are trying to reach. When a caller hits 5 for example, they should be asked whether they want Linda or Kelley or Kristi's voicemail, however they are automatically routed to Kelley's. So weird!

How is the directory set up? if it was " alpha " then you should get a " list " of all names starting with in this example 5 ( starting with the order in which they were recorded ) it sounds like the directory is setup as " names "

I just started working here recently and nobody remembers how it was set up. Is there a way to change that now? I can't seem to find any menu on the program/help functions for setting up the directory. Thanks!!

Thanks - somehow the directory is now functioning normally even though I have no idea what changed that.
