Is there any way to switch an IP200e phone that has been used as a local phone to a remote phone? ESI-Address always tells me that the phone is local. I have tried clearing the phones programming from the PBX, but have had no luck. New phones will let me program them as remote, but I have some used IP200e phones I would like to relocated at remote offices. Any Ideas?

You definitely need the remote version of the phone.

Really? I've done it with a new phone out of the box using ESI-Address. Is there a hardware or firmware difference between the remote and local phones? We've always ordered the same phone and just set it up as either remote or local.

The remote phones on the E class systems are labeled IPFP (IP Feature Phone) or RIPFP (Remote IP Feature Phone) on the back.... cross your fingers that you see the "R" :toothy:
