I picked up a new customer today that lost bits and pieces of the programming after a power outage. I was able to get them back and running except for one item. They have an IVX72eIIFSIII.
I have the Day/Night Button on X100 just like before. The screen shows that it is in Day Mode. But when you press the button, it says "You can not use this feature from this phone". That's a first for me. I removed the button and replaced it twice. Any ideas why this is happening. Don't want to intialize unless I have to. Last resort is to call ESI on Monday morning. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

That is a first for me too ... i have never heard of that... nor anything of that sort associated with the night / mode button.

Did you verify it is actually programmed as a mode button?? ..... it could be mislabeled and you could be trying to implement some other feature??

It's a long shot but all i can think of.

I would re-initalize and reprogram.

I'll bet the system thinks it is an analog phone. I've seen this happen once or twice. If so, ESI tech support can get engineering to fix it.

Make the button a DND or something other than the Day/night. Reset that sick puppy and then try to reprogram the day/night key back again. Sounds like some database corruption...

+1 If the system hasn't been power cycled yet, that would be the first thing I would suggest. Voltage incidents can cause funky responses from the system. Especially if there is no surge protection on either side of the system.
