We have about 12 systems that need to have the software upgraded as some of the systems have never had it done before and are 5 years old. We have 100's, 200's and 600's.
What is the best way to upgrade these to current versions while trying to maximize downtime and disruption to the customer as some of these systems are 24x7.
Any help, tips, pointers would be appreciated.

It sounds like you don't have a reseller you are happy with. If you have 12 ESI systems it might be worth it for you to take the technical training. That way you can get support directly from ESI. I know large end users have taken it before- I don't know what their policy is now, though.

Oops! In that case, a word of advice: make sure after each upgrade you move the software to slot 1 once it's running. You don't want to learn the hard way why it's a good idea.

great...thanks. It sounds like there is no easy way to do or avoid downtimes.
Seems like there should be a more simple way to do it.
Thanks,
John

I upgrade all the systems we support by dl the upgrade and setting the restart for midnight for those on a 24/7 schedule. I inform the client that their system will reboot at midnight and the phone system may be unavailable for 5 to 10 minutes depending on the configuration. I have never had an issue with this.

You will have to load new prompts! Make sure your system is not reset for 20 to 30 minutes after the prompts are loaded. Sometimes, the prompts will not take effect if it has any power disruptions. I always check program 3 for the recordings after the prompts are complete.
