We were told prior to purchasing our Iwatsu phone system that our voicemails could be played on our cell phones (Treo 650's) That type of WAV isn't supported on Treo's. Has anyone run into this problem and figured out a solution? Thanks

What Iwatsu phone/voicemail system did you purchase? If the voicemail system is a VMI or VML, then there is no problem notifying a cell phone that you have a vm msg. They system will call any phone number to tell you that you have a new msg. Who did you purchase the system from? Your Iwatsu dealer that installed the system is the person that you should be asking to set this up for you.

I thought you said that your system was down...

Go to a website that sells third party software for the Treo like Palmgear.com They have plenty of software that supports multiple formats. This is assuming you know how to get the wav file on your Treo650. I hope I read your post right.

I think RCA hit it on the head. I am not sure that the WAV file the voice mail sends you is going to different from any other WAV file. If I am misunderstanding please someone chime in.

We use Treo 650's with Versamail. I can open normal wav's without any problem except for the wav's that the voicemail server sends me. We have the Enterprise CS.

I got Pocket Tunes which some other people are using but it won't play the Iwatsu wav's either.

I have not done much with the TOL. (I am assuming that that is what you are using.) What is your vendor telling you?

So the Iwatsu sends you an email with the wav file as an attachment and you have your Treo set to pull email, right? I dont know the Iwatsu product but I am very familiar with the Treo. In the email, through versamail, you try and play the attachment (wav file) and what happens next? Does the Treo give you an error? Does it try and play the file but no sound? Have you tried saving the file to your memory card and then use another program to play the wav directly? Just throwing ideas out there.

yes, i'm using versamail. It errors and says "unsupported wav file". I can open any other wav file I receive via email on my treo.
Yes, I tried saving it and playing it with pocket tunes and no luck.

I think the solution here is to find the right third party software that will play that type of file, unless there is away to change it on the Iwatsu. I would go to palmgear.com and try a different program that plays wav files. Most of their software allows you to try it for free.
