Thanks for your informative help in the past!

I am returning to ask how to enable Paging over the desksets for the adix VS.

I have this system in my home, the programmer, and a healthy dose of training, but cant figure this one out. I have a "page" key programmed on the phone, but it does nothing.

What I would like is a button programmed so I pick up the handset or hit speaker, hit the button, and scream for my kids to get their butts to where I am (or something similar like "dinner is ready"), and have it play through the deskset speakers on all 12 sets throughout the house. I thought I understood the paging, but I dont.

Hi- Try programming a Group Page key on your key pattern(s). Then make sure are all your extensions are included in the station paging group in Class 8/Item 4.

How do I make it so that when I dial an internal extension it just beeps and goes straight to speakerphone? Like HFAI on other systems? Does this one do that?

Paging programming will depend on which type of page key you have programmed.

If you're using a PRESS PAGE or ALL PAGE key, put the extensions you want to receive pages in station page group 5.

If you're using a GROUP PAGE key, put the extensions in the group you have selected.

As far as hands free goes, program all extensions in Class 10 Item 48 for VOICE calling as opposed to TONE calling, and change Item 4 Class 22 to CALLING PARTY.

There are certain caveats and advantages to leaving Class 4 settings as CALLED PARTY but in your installation, being able to holler at kids outweighs them IMHO

Hey cool that also gives the ability to call an extension and they dont hav to go to the phone to answer. Excellent.

Paging is one way, or should I be able to hear them back? Is two way possible on an all page?

Right now I get only one way, me to all the extensions. or more properly the calling page originator to all the stations and not both ways.

Paging from the ADIX VS is one way only. With the addition of the VS-MISC card it's possible to set up 'meet me' paging, but that too is only one way.

would group intercom call accomplish the same thing? I just saw this feature. With icm calling set up with voice calling.

Sorry, Dude. A group intercom call will make all the phones in the group RING, regardless of any TONE/VOICE programming you may have. If/when an extension picks up the call, it becomes an intercom call.

Before some of the later software versions arrived, this was a great way to force the system to make an all ring hunt group- before it became a regular programming feature.

Two-way EXTERNAL paging is possible, assuming you have the IX-MISC card, and the amplifier/speaker equipment that supports it, but not thru the keysets.

"Meet me" paging is a basic feature, no matter internal or external.

Suppose page "group 1" used, set class 10 item 49 to "1". Class 7 item 6 element 24 enable a meet-me answer access number.

You are able talk to anyone but you don't know where he/she is within the paging coverage by dialing the access number during paging.
