We have an IDS 432 w/Eclipse software rev and a KeyVoice Corporate Office VM System.

I am banging my head against the wall attempting to get the VM system to transfer a call to an external number. Here's whats happening...

There are two parameters I need to set on the VM system for call transfer to an outside line...

Sequence to initiate a transfer AND
Sequence to complete a transfer

Sequence to initiate seems to be working fine with !,9*

I get it to call the external number no problem. It's the Sequence to complete a transfer that's driving me up the wall.

When I just add a hookflash to the Sequence to Complete, the call gets announced to the external number but then immediately disconnects before the calls are conferenced together.

If I add a pause after the hookflash - !L - I actually get the two parties in a conference state (CnCo) for the duration of the pause but then the call disconnects when the pause is over.

I've attempted every combination of hooflash and other options and cannot get this conference to stay live.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Geoff

To do an unsupervised co conference from a single line (basically what the VM is) you need to do it as an add on conference.

I think these strings should work
establish: !,1#,9
release: !,1#

Don't have the setup to try it myself, you might give it a try

Hey Bigkayeh, thanks for your response. I'm at home right now but will test out first thing in the morning. Thanks again.

Bigkayeh,

OK tested this out this morning and what I'm finding is that both the calling party and the called party end up on hold hearing MOH. In the C screen the status of the calls is actually EHld. Any ideas how to pull these calls off of hold and get them into the conference from the release string? Thanks again for your help.

OK after testing this morning I found that both of the parties ended up on exclusive hold. What I found after rifling through the manual and finding the Add-On Conference section is that we needed an additional 1# in the release section.

Release now looks like this and is working properly...

release: !,1#,1#

Thanks again for your help and pointing me in the right direction.

I've got one more issue I'm attempting to figure out now... I need to make this a screened transfer so that the party the call is forwarded to has the option to accept the call or send it back to voicemail.

There's a setting for 'Sequence to recall from Call Screening' that I need to figure out so that when the party the call is forwarded to chooses to NOT accept the call it sends the originator of the call back to the voice mail system. I'm going to play around with this but if you have any additional ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

Geoff,
I just got back in. Got your e-mail and saw your posts and glad you got it worked out. On the supervised trans it would need to be initiated with a flash and a "#" and then could be retrieved with a "2" thats internal and doubt that you can make it work on an external.
