I have recently been thrust into taking care of the phone system at my community college, I am the Network Admin and they decided I should do phones also I guess. Anyway, I am installing an Iwatsu 12IPKTD-E phone and for some reason when I try to call it internally I get a busy signal, if from outside it goes straight to voicemail. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

What shows up on the phone's display?
Can you call another extension from the phone?
Sounds like your IP phone isn't configured.
Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.

I assume the phone is connected to an Iwatsu ECS. Does the IP phone work if installed directly to the lower port of the MBU? Is the phone located outside of the LAN?
If its a remote phone, how is it connecting the the ECS (LAN 2 IP address)? VPN?
