I have an Iwatsu Adix (Ver. 4.71) that is periodically spitting out SMDR time stamps that are not correct. (They will show as 60:37, 33:03, 27:59) Most are showing the right time stamp. It is also perodically showing extra digits preceding numbers (38663735426, 805112024274508, 58663735426) What should I look for as the cause? Interference or noise on the rs-232 link? CPU issue? This rs-232 link goes across a long distance (over 100 ft.) but is using short haul modems to accomplish this. Most SMDR records are correct just periodically getting these strange ones. Thanks for any help.

It probably is line noise. Also, depending on the cost accounting software in use, you can specify whether to use KSU time or CPU time in the time stamps. Extra digits and wacky numbers generally indicates a problem in the data stream somewhere, be it noise or loss of synch.
Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.

1. there is no difference between KSU time and CPU time. They are one and the same. I think what you are referring to is how the time can be set in the SMDR print out. It can be set for Minutes where it just rounds up to the next full minute and Seconds where it show the entire time of the call ie. 1:33 for 1 minute 33 seconds. 2. You are running the cable to pretty close to its maximum suggested length limit of 125 feet. Sometimes if your running multi conductor cable you can double up on the pairs to reduce the loop limit. This may help.
3. The software they are running is extreemely old and also could be a contributing factor. Upgrading the software this late in the game I don't think would be feasable. If you can find the software they may want to consider it. For them it would be like going from the dark ages to the 19 century and improvement but still not 100% up to date.
