We are using an Iwatsu Adix VS system (VS-VML-01) 48mb, 4 port, 50 mailboxes, 2 hours. We replaced the circuit card in 12/08. Now it is having a problem - incoming calls are not hearing the auto attendant. They simply hear ringing and then a voice says "you have reached xxx-xxx-xxxx" then a beep and no way to leave a vmail. I have reset the system but it doesn't help. Do you think a new circuit card is needed?

Is that what you hear when you dial the voice mail access code?

Do you think this could be a voice mail that is provided by the carrier?

As far as I know there is no voicemail provided by the carrier. In the past the auto attendant answered. Now the auto attendant is not working and no one is able to access their voicemail and I am not able to access the mail mailbox - when I dial 400 the auto attendant doesn't answer. Thus, I think the whole board will need to be replaced right?

Not necessarily. Check It.04.77 in the Vs software. Your packets may have gotten trashed of lost. If they look good then you will have to get into theVML software and check the packets there. Usually its a packeting problem from you description.

Some of the early versions of the VS had the strange habit of the VM/AA ports reverting to plain old SLT ports or even AA ports after a power hit.

Check Class 1 for ports 17-21 to verify they are configured as VM/AA ports.

Then verify in Class 7 that 400 is in fact the hunt group access code for Hunt Group 10. Then check Hunt Group 10 for ports 17-21.

As for Class 4.77, the VMI voicemails all use default settings for packet codes, so check your programming against default settings.

Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.

In the VMI Editor, go to System Integration. In the General tab make sure the extension and mailbox ranges are set properly. Then go to the InBand tab - you may want to click on the Default button to restore the integration parameters - (But check to see if DTR is checked first)
