I recently took a call that the receptionist deleted her mail box and cannot create a new one. Well it just so happens to be the administrator mail box. They have a bckup disk which I had left adix version 10.10 but the omega voice vmi programmer disk is missing. I'm not sure what version is compatible. I need to put together a quote and am not sure if I can order the older version of programmer. This is a local school and am doing this gratis. Any ideas could help.

If you can locate the newest version of the programmer, it will be compatible with whatever version of voice mail the customer is running. That said, it's highly unlikely that the admin mailbox was deleted unless the receptionist did it purposely- it can't be done by mistake, or from anywhere BUT an admin mailbox. You might find a quick solution with a little detective work. It's more likely a mailbox greeting was changed or deleted. What happens when someone tries to send a message to that mailbox?

I checked the mailbox and it said it was no longer valid. I thought that it would do no good to ask her why she deleted it. If memory serves me, you can only have one admin mail box and I assigned it to the kt phone w/dss. I trained her to maintain the mail boxes and I can't imagine why she would delete her own mail box. Currently, I am now installing Panasonic phone systems and don't have my old windows 98 laptop with the vmi programmer but left the disks with the customer equipment on all my installations. They just miss-placed the vmi disk and they said they would provide a laptop. I'm trying to do this gratis but if I have to purchase the programmer, I have to charge them appropriately through my office.

If you CAN get in to program the voice mail, you can have more than one admin mailbox. I always install a technician mail box with admin rights on every install. Saves loads of time down the road.
Did you use default numbering on the extensions for this install?

I Couldn't because it's interfaced to a 5100 sound/media system w/48 slt's. Phones & mailboxes are the same extensions by room #. I could default the system & box 101 is default admin mail box ,right?

Don't default the system!
Mailbox 201 is an admin mailbox by default. Try dialing the access code for Hunt Group 47, pressing the # sign and entering 201 as a mailbox. It's a fifty-fifty shot the installer didn't remove the mailbox on the initial install.

I checked box 201 "not valid". I hooked up the modem (already programmed for remote prgm)& sent a personal e-mail to you but it's probably in your junk mail. I sent all the details in those e-mails.Let me know if you require the backup prgm. or the pc software 10.10. thanks.....

PM SENT Also, the customer disconnects the phone line during the day till 3:30. I can call tomorrow to make sure it's turned on at 3:30 tomorow....
