Hi, I have a couple of issues that I need input from the group on. To the client they are emergencies so please if you could respond ASAP that would be great. I have a client that has the following issues. Some people press MSG # and get fast busy so are unable to retrieve messages. Until I get there I don't know the voicemail number as I tried to have her dial 220 and it gave her busy. On the main phone there is a major alarm. On some other phones MSG # works fine but no MSG light to indicate. I think that is just a feature 8 or something to activate the light isn't it? THey are over an hour away so I am hoping to go tomorrow with my answers in hand. Thanks,

Just because it freaks people out, clear the major alarm first at the attendant station by going off-hook at intercom dial tone and dialing FEAT, #,7. The phone will beep three times and clear the alarm. A major/minor alarm isn't a real big deal- the system will still operate normally. It just means some scratch-pad memory in the processor got a little over crowded. A constantly occurring major alarm, however, points to some sort of problem.

Pressing MSG, # and getting a fast busy usually means the extension has a spurious message waiting light. You can either send a message to the extension in question, wait a few minutes and try to retrieve, or press FEAT, #, 8, MSG with the handset in the cradle to clear the light.

Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.

Jbean, went onsite today and tried your suggestions and for the most part they did the trick. However the list of extensions that were having issues was so large I also tried using the red reset button. Once that was done the system issues cleared right up. MSG # worked and evertyhing. The only remaining issue that I could not resolve was when changing the time on the system the phone display still showed 12 noon, even after changing to 11 am. If I listed to teh time in the system manager it said 11am but the display still showed 1 hour ahead.

Phone system time and voice mail system time run independently of each other in earlier software versions. Once you have set the time in the voice mail system, go to the attendant (main phone goddess position )phone. If the installer was a nice guy, he put a time change button on the phone or DSS console. Press ICM, press Clock Adjust/Time Adjust and set the time in 24 hour format. The system will beep 3 times to signal it has accepted your programming.

If there is no pre-programmed button, press ICM, dial FEAT 64 and enter the time. Three beeps means the system accepted your changes.
