I am taking a class next year on supporting our Iwatsu system, but for now I am hoping I can tackle this. I believe what I want to do is change the 'Station ID' associated with a phone.
The name on the phone belongs to a previous employee. I want to change the ID on the phone to reflect the new employee. Is this done from the phone, or do I need to connect to the phone system via something called 'Iwatsu Programmer'?
Thanks.

You will need the programmer unless you can decipher the KT programming which is "blinding".

IF your system is an ECS system, you'll need the programmer to change the station ID. Except for changing system time, there is no KT programming on the ECS.
Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.
