Hi all, first post here, hello to everyone.

Is there an easy way to program a button so the headset port on rear will work? Is programming at the master console necessary? I already bought a GN Netcom 2115 headset with RJ adapter cable. It's plugged in now, but not sure how to switch to it. We bought this system years ago, and I hate to call in the reseller at $100/hour min just to do this. I've reviewed the few Iwatsu pamphlets that came with the handsets, but don't see anything yet.

Thanks for any info,
mnormand

Hi, welcome to the board.

If you don't already have a Headset Control button programmed, you'll need to program it from the main console.

Check all the buttons in the top row- Headset control is usually on a default key pattern for KTD-3 phones.

Press FEAT, #, 9 then a button. The programming for that button will show in the phone display. The specific thing you're looking for is 'Headset Control'. This switches control from the hookswitch to the headset connected to the headset jack.

To answer a ringing phone, you simply press the Headset Control button; to hang up you do the same.

A button programmed simply for 'Headset' doesn't associate with the jack and must be lit the entire time you're using the headset and requires additional buttons to be programmed.

If you don't have a button already programmed, you'll need programming, either from the attendant KT or by your vendor.

Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.

Oh thanks very much JBean for taking the time to reply.

At least I know how to proceed, and confirmed I don't have the button now, and pretty much need special programming when I'm ready.

Have a great weekend, thanks again.
