I have a client who just recently got hooked up with Vonage, she also has a credit card terminal which hooks up to an analog phone line. Someone told her that there is an adapter that can be used on her Vonage to convert the line to analog, but they didn't know what it is. Now she calls me everyday to find out what it is and why I haven't found out what the product is...even though everybody keeps telling me that it won't work. Any help on this

Unfortunately you have found one of the chinks in Vonage. Analog modems,POS terminals as well as faxes have issues. Vonage offers fax line conditioning but POS and anlog modems are hit and miss.(more miss than hit) Google Vonage forum and find what others have tried.

Called different things around the nation. 1FL, 1f,1L, all are flat rate business lines from the CO. Even using Vonage it doesn't hurt to have a backup land line and that would also be used for analog transmission.

If she has a regular analog phone connected to a Vonage adapter, she should try her credit card terminal right on that. Most of the Vonage adapters have two FXS ports and you can provision the second one for a different number. They work OK with low speed modem and fax, in my experience.
