I ordered a couple of SIP single line sets to try on our in-house Comdial MP5000. Here's what I have learned so far. They do not come with manuals. I have a Cortelco and a Uniden. THe Cortelco is a good looking phone and has a web GUI for programming the phone. The Uniden has a users guide on line that simply tells you how to get it out of the box and plug up the cords. No instructions at all about how to set it up. There is a password for the Uniden but I can't find it in any of their documentation. Uniden web site is worthless. I would recommend the Cortelco over the Uniden any day so far. This does not mean I have either one of them working yet. Anybody have any experience with third party SIP phones?

We've used both WIFI and other 3rd party endpoints with the MP5000. The biggest problem we had was that our MP5000 didn't have the 3rd Party SIP licenses installed... once we got those it just took a little fiddling with the config on the 3rd party device to get it up and running. You will need access to the config screens for the device... so you'll need to find the password. I don't have any experience with either manufacturer you've got... we've uses Zyxel and Aastra. Good Luck.
