I am looking for a new phone line aimed at the really small office setup (10 or less users). We currently sell Shoretel, 3com, and Cisco and none of them fit into the really small office setup. We were thinking about the Venture IP system, anyone know of any other IP based system for the really small office (don't need all fancy features). Really just looking for a high quality system that gives an office the benefit of using their data network.

Vodavi's Telenium IP system is pretty nice and compact. It has a basic voice mail built in which will suffice for most applications. They have also recently released scaled-down phone models to keep the price reasonable. Check it out at www.vodavi.com. .

Panasonic's new KX-TDA systems are pretty nice too. Nice wireless phones are available for use with them.

I'd be concerned about the lack of basic features on the Venture.

Tadiran just released their new small end IP system I think it's called the IPXOffice. From what I have seen so far it looks to be pretty awesome. Look at this:

With your current offerings of IP systems I have to ask the question of why another IP system for a small office? It seems to me that you are pretty well diversified in that tfield already, what will yet another IP product give you that you do not have? If I were you I would look at small digital systems that you could offer. At least then you can be more diversified. Not everyone out there wants (or needs) IP yet; maybe some diversification outside that market could help you more than another product that offers basically what you already have......just my .02.

I agree with Ed. The Panasonic KX-TDA50 should meet your requirements.

Coral. Where you able to get access to the IPXoffice? I logged into one about 3 mo. ago and was not impressed. It seems to me that the IPXoffice is more of a gateway made to be integrated into the Coral PBX than it is a stand alone solution. Being a Tadiran, it certainly wasn't what I expected.

It's actually both. It IS stand alone SIP out of the box. SIP trunking and SIP phones. We are getting one soon to replace our in house SL which has served us well these last 10+ years. I really want to see how the wireless is cause for IP this thing prices really well.

Just a thought

If it's a really small office then they probably have a really small bandwith to work with . Without a QOS you have a really small probability of a successful install . Which is why TDM for small applications is a good idea in my opinion . Just my opinion !

The idea is though with the 8 port built in switch and wireless and router/firewall you are going to have QOS.
