I have a good customer local that has good quality PBX. Customer wants to add a voip extension in remote city. Choice 1 was to replace existing system with new one to create IP ports. Chunk of coin there, now lookin to go cheaper.

I need info on a gateway to connect to analog port of existing system.

Quick scenario: Certain calls must ring to desk in Orlando, answered by person in Orlando, transfer the call to Jacksonville office.

I've got some time on this project to absorb info before implementing.

PBX at existing location is ESI 42s with 4 analog ports.

Further info: I'm probably going to install a small start up system in the new location. If so we may use trunk-to-trunk transfer capabilities in the beginning. Any options we come up with will need to be better than T-T transfer.

I searched the ESI Resellers website. None of the compatable cards to the s-class are IP. Note: I began my search at 4:30AM so I wwill check again now that coffee is in the bloodstream.

John,

You may want to look at Multitech. I've used them in the past with very good results. PM or call me if you want more info.

YOu may also want to look at a simply OPX line from the telco if the guy doesn't live to far.

I thought about an OPX circuit for this application as well, but that is way to far to go to be cost-effective. Many LD carriers don't even offer analog circuits anymore anyway. I learned that the hard way.

The trip between Orlando and Jacksonville isn't exactly a walk in the park.

I would have to agree that leaning toward the Multi-Tech VoIP units are the way to go. I got some doccumentation about them a while back from Panasonic and they are clearly universally-adaptable using a standard analog station port.
