We some a about 20 ip off of one system most are in the US and a couple in Canada. The customer wants to know if they will work in China, Germany, and Vietnam. I take it there networks are the same as here. I understand there will be a few glitches in some places(firewalls) and such but in theory it should work.

Well, yes, in theory they can work. But there are a lot of variables, it is not just plug them into the internet and they work. What type of system is this? What type of phone? What type of band with is there in these off-site locations?

Also important is if the are using POE. Most IP sets for the US market have 110V power supplies and overseas is 220-240V. Just another item to consider.

Something else to think about.

You don't want to get caught in china or the middle east providing dial tone. It's against the laws of some countries to provide non government dial tone.

just needed to throw that in there

I have users that travel all over the world. When they travel, they want to take thier extension with them. IP softphone loaded on their laptop allows this. They connect to the internet and VPN back to my company. Location no longer matters.
