Hello.

I was wondering if anyone here has successfully linked 2 offices phone system with some type of VOIP gateway?

I have purchased some of the linksys 3102 devices to kind of play around with the technology.

I have been able to connect a trunk line to an analog extension line in both locations.

In other words, when I dial trunk #2 at my branch office, it is like pickup up an analog extension in the main office( ex. 260).

The same is trunk when I dial trunk 750 in the main office,it is like picking up an analog extension in the branch office( extension 332)

So I guess I must have the it working for trunk-to-extension ok.

However, I am unable to go from extension-to-trunk.

I have the public IP address of both devices in each other however perhaps I am creating a loop of some kind?

Does anyone have any experience with the configuration on this device or any suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

MBSWWYPBX......Used a different brand, we used an analog extension from a PBX 50 miles away as a trunk here and vise-versus. Go on trunk here and get extension dialtone there. Dial "9" and away you go. On this end they could only ring the line and we had to transfer them.

This is just an Internet tie trunk setup.

Anything else? :thumb:

This sounds correct for the setup of the ip box's you have.
Like KLD said you will have to dial line access number after you dial 750 in main office or #2 in branch.make sure the ext 260 and 332 have access to outside lines on the systems.
There are a lot of systems out there that can have gateway cards put in to them and will give you multi channel voip links, and the systems will work as one bigger system.

I am currently using two Vodavi Voice Express gateways to link two locations. One site has an XTS and the other site is an STS..the link is over the public internet and works pretty well most of the time.
