I have a working Asterisk IP PBX server integrated with an Isotec 228 PBX. I can dial from the handset through the Isotec to the Asterisk server and make outbound voip calls. I can also take inbound Voip calls and route them into the Isotec.

Where my problem resides is in the call quality between the Asterisk server and the Isotec. The two are connected with a Digium TE110P on the Asterisk side and a T1 card on the Isotec side.

All calls made through the handsets that go through the Isotec are choppy. You can here popping, crackling, etc. It's not overwhelming, but annoying enough.

Has anyone on this board integrated an Isotec with an Asterisk server? If so, I'd like to pick your brain.

Thanks in advance!

I have made several adjustments on the asterisk side and the network side. And I am confident tha the problem lies somewhere in the cabling between the Digium and the T1 card in the PBX. The T1 card in the PBX itself or some kind of timing/signalling issue that I can control in Asterisk.

Any call I make with an IP phone (bypassing the PBX) is crystal clear. Once I go through the PBX into the Asterisk, thats where my issues are.

I don't think this error is completely Asterisk related, but more of a timing/signalling problem.

The way I have it currently setup I am receiving loads of "Blue Alarms". This results in audio problems.

What type of timing /signalling parameters can I set on the PBX side? I can also alter settings on the Asterisk side, I just don't know what the PBX is expecting.

- I am using Asterisk server as the timing source.
- I am using a Line Build Out (LBO) of 0 [ 0 db (CSU) / 0-133 feet (DSX-1) ].
- I have it set for D4 Framing
- The Coding is AMI

I have set up an Asterik and an IDS together. I would first check your ground if you are having noise issues.
