Hello everyone,
I usually have those stupid questions about various systems I run into but my question now is to find the proper solution for a customer.
I have a rental management company that is looking for an VOIP solution.
Their main office has 10 handsets and they have 13 remote locations with 2 handsets each all using pots lines.
I have looked at the 3COM VCX, Asterisk(Trixbox) as well as a few others.
This company is planning to grow(don't they all) and wants something they can grow with.
If anyone can reccomend a decent VOIP system to connect their remote offices it would be greatly appreacheated.
They don't have a TON of money to work with but will spend what they need to.
Any information would be helpful. I hope this is the right area for a question like this.

Vertical's SBX-320 seems like a good fit for this application and the pricing is right.

One major factor not mentioned is the internet connection at the sites. That will be important to make sure they will have a properly functioning VoIP network.
The answer will be as varied as you can think. Are you a dealer for any product, will you have to get certified, do you plan on selling more systems like this, do you have VoIP experience yet, do you need a system that you can purchase from a supply house, or will you have to work with another company.
The SBX would work well and prices well. Do they want the remote phones to be separate systems or just handsets hanging off of the main system? Clearly it would be cheaper to just hang VoIP telephones off of the main system rather than buying 14 switches and connecting that way.

Allworx with hosted phones for remote sites. Port the remote phone numbers to the Corporate Allworx via SIP trunking. Install Cisco SPA8800 at sites where numbers cannot be ported so that Corporate still has access to these local phone lines. Contact us if you need more help.

Exactly what I mean, it is just like any thread started "what system should I buy?" The answer is always varied and everyone has their favorite system for each application. Allworx, Vertical, NEC, Samsug, Siemens, Tadiran, Shoretel......the list goes on as far as systems that support VoIP.
The real question involves your expertise, certifications, and where you can/want to supply the system from.
