On an IDS 432, I'm attempting to use DNIS recordings. On page 410-28 of the IDS manual, it says "If no default recording is programmed, no recording is played and the next command in the call sequence is executed".
That's what I want to happen, but when I bring up the DNIS Recorder Programming screen, there's already a default listing of Recorder 1, Message 1. It won't let me delete it. How do I make it play no recording and execute the next command in the call squence when no DNIS on the page is matched?

Does anybody here have any experience with DNIS recordings?

I've never done it, myself-- for what it's worth, I read and reread the IDS manual concerning DNIS recordings, and looked at that setup with the "DEFAULT 1 1" and couldn't really figure it out, either...

Thanks, Orac. I did the same thing with the same results. It may just be a bug that was never fixed before Executone stopped supporting the IDS. Unfortunately, it makes DNIS recordings unusable for my application.

I figured it out! I'll post the solution for anyone attempting this in the future. Instead of stating "If no default recording is programmed, no recording is played and the next command in the call sequence is executed", the manual should have stated "if a non-exsistent recorder number is designated as the default, no recording is played and the next command in the call sequence is executed". I specified Recorder #99 Message #01 as my default and it just skipped right on to the next step in the sequence if the DNIS digits weren't found on that page. I'm so happy... now onto my next problem. ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/smile.gif) [This message has been edited by Andrew_in_Naperville (edited August 24, 2005).]
