I'm reprogramming an IDS 42 system with an Infstart DVX on it. I have most of the system back up, but i'm not understanding how to get the auto attendant to answer. The VMS option is on in the IDS, the customer wants several phones to ring during Day mode and then fwd to Auto Attendant after 5 rings. At night they want it to go directly to Auto Attendant. I have the phones ringing in day mode, but am not sure how to make it overflow.

8 Digital phones, 1 DSS, 2 DVX Vmail ports.
Phones are:
(2) M64 Display phones
(6) M18 non Display phones
(1) 48 Button DSS
(2) ports for DVX Vmail.

No Analog phones or hardware to provide.

OK,
I've never worked on the DVX but on any other you want to overflow(call forward) to Hunt 036.You would need to set this up on the G screen in Forwarding/VMS plans. You need to use a phone extension to forward to H036 (a spare analog extensions s great for this)
under probably the no answer and busy fields. You can also set the delay time at thr right hand side of the G screen.

If i have the CO lines ringing to several stations, how would that work. I am planning on having most of the stations forward to vmail boxes, but even if i forwarded a phone to no answer go to Hunt 36, how would this precidence over the other station forwarding?

That becomes a little more of a problem.I'm not sure what level of software the IDS42 has on it and if its the latest version whether or not it will support phantom extensions.I'm sure JJ will chime in on that.
But we do need a way for the calls to forward or overflow on a delay in day mode and immediate at night. Is there a spare phone connected that you can use for a ringing purpose? You must have the system set up for at least 12 extensions if you have 9 listed so that would be possible.

Phantom extension will not work, but pick on phone to be the ringing phone and conyrol the forwarding to hunt group 36.

Give all the other phones a ringing pickup key, or call coverage. Then settup the "G" screen to forward the other extensions to there own voicemail box.

PVJ, The DVX programs just like the VXII, but hooks up to a digatal port.

Good Luck!!

If you want the calls to be answered by AA why not set them to hunt group 36 under line programming in the b screen. If that is not possible and you want to ring several phones then fwd to AA, the sytem will follow the fwding sceme of the highest port # that rings. Not the highest ext # but the port # that ext is assigned to.

Frankie,
He wants a delayed forward to the AA in day mode,so immediate ringing to hunt group 36 won't work.So no phantom extensions then you will have to use a phone to forward like JJ describes .If you can do it and you don't want to affect the existing phones forwarding, install an extra phone that rings and like JJ said add ringing pickup keys to the other phones and you're good.
