Is there any way to verify whether or not the files downloaded by doing a Programming and ACD backup are any good?
After our receptionist unexpectedly defaulted our 228, we found that the last backup was no good, so I wonder what I might do (if anything) to guard against this happening again (that is, checking the backup validity - the receptionist won't be defaulting the switch again).
Thanks, dennis

when I used to work on a bunch of IDS systems(for many customers)I used to keep a copy on MY computer, just in case. Frequently, we used to back-up the disk on-site as well, But, I can still remember many times when somebody went to use it to restore a database the disk was bad or unreadable...so, the " cure " was to leave 2 or 3 disks on-site.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel..

Disk go bad, I always saved on my harddrive.
You can save to a CD now and it won't go bad.
Good Luck!!
If all else fails, use a BFH.
