Hey guys-
So I am away at school and get a phone call from home that our house phone line isn't working. No dialtone on any of the phones. So I told my parents to check all of the phones and make sure they are on the hook, and before they did that, they had dialtone back. I called them later on and they told me it was out again. My first thought was something with the wiring in my shop was bad, so I had my mom disconnect that. Still no dialtone. I told her how to go outside to the NID and check. She is going to do that tomorrow hopefully. IS there anything that you guys can thing of that could be causing this, short of a possible outage? I told them they might as well call at&t, and we do have Linebacker.

AT&T could be working on a nearby cable. If the service is still out, is there any dialtone at the NID?

My mom called at&t today...of course all they said was to test at the NID, so my dad is going to do that tonight.

Linebacker. :shrug: I take that to be inside wiring maintenance , correct ? so the NID shouldn't be a issue here its up to the LEC to make it work to the phone thats what your parents are paying for (now why they're paying for inside wiring maintenance is another issue )
