Hal, I have called the Cablevision tech support many times to set up the main number & hunt sequence, I wouldn't suggest one of our customers do it, but thats why they have us.

Never had an issue with OV staff not knowing what I am Talking about.

Trying to get the same results over the phone from VZ & some CLEC's GOOD LUCK.

Anyway this topic will slow start to become irrelivant as more & more systems move to SIP trunking & Pure IP talkpaths using good old ethernet...............

Handling your OV account yourself on line is one of their selling points. Good for you that you did it for your customer, but that's not what their sales weasel tells them.

As for OV not knowing what they are talking about, if it's in their book they know about it. Read the original post for want happens when you ask them for something else.

Cablevision sales weasels are a source of leads for your company?? Who do you know! Hey, I would be happy to help them out with those tough jobs if they referred me once and a while but they think they know everything.

Cablevision makes Verizon look good and that is not easy. Arthur you already know how bad they are. Don't you just love how the installs end up looking. Not to mention when the modem gets hit by lighting out by you they will lose all service. Then you call for service and they tell you it will be 3 days but you can forward your line to your cell phone. They of course can not do it for you Hal, you have to go on line. It is a crazy business we have choosen for ourselves. If you recommend them count on losing you customer because they will blame you. Better to stay out of it so they can not blame you.

Now Lightpath is completely different. They are professional and know what they are doing. They have Centrex but with such a small amount of lines they will not build to you unless maybe they have a data need and maybe the costs will get high eoungh to make it worth it for them. Agreed. All of my customers are in buildings where Lightpath had previously installed their equipment. You would have to be a big user for them to add you to their network.
