In the Access Service Request (ASR) there is a REQTYP field with two options TB or EB. Does anyone know the literal translation of these? I believe TB is for PBX and EB is for standard POTS, but I am not certain of that.
I need this for a training project. The client demands that every acronym be defined, even if no one knows or cares.

Tomas:
Any chance you can tell us exactly where you are? Those codes you mentioned don't sound like any US service ordering codes.
Whidbey Island, what state, province, country?

Whidbey Island is one of nine islands that make up Island County, State of Washington, USA....
Now then, from which telephone service provider did Tomas get these codes? Could it be due to radio link vs. direct link? There is a Naval Air Station there, also. Could it be Navy speak? Or is it the Whidbey Telecom code?
Tomas, more input, please.

Okay… So I’m not really an ASR or ASOG expert but here’s what I know or could find for ya.
REQTYPE 1st Character identifies the type of service being requested. 2nd character id’s the “status†of the request.
1st character entries are (per the nexst ASOG guide I can find) VALID ENTRIES: 1st Character * A = Switched Access - Feature Group A * E = End User Special Access, DNAL, Part Time/Full Time Television or Program Audio * L = CCS Link or Unbundled STP Port * M = Trunking (FG B, C, D, SAC NXX, Wireless and Local) * R = Ring * S = Special Access, Full Time/Part Time Television or Program Audio, DNAL Switched Access Facility, Unbundled Dedicated Transport, Unbundled Multiplexer, Ethernet Virtual Connection * V = Broadband Services, ATM, Frame Relay Service * W = WATS Access Line * X = Broadband End User Services, ATM, Frame Relay (“T?†REALLY? Ummmmm…. Not sure? I don’t have a “T†in my guide nor is that a valid option in my OSS  )
2nd character: 2nd Character (4-Step Process) Step 1 – Service Request A = Manual/mechanized Customer F = Verbal Provider G = Access Service Request follow up to verbal Customer
Step 2 – Service Request Confirmation B = Manual/mechanized Provider
Step 3A – Firm Order – Service Request Sent (Same PON) C = Manual/mechanized Customer H = Verbal Provider J = Access Service Request follow up to verbal Customer
Step 3B – Firm Order – Service Request Not Sent D = Manual/mechanized Customer J = Access Service Request follow up to verbal K = Verbal Provider
