I have an IDS 228 with Infostar voice mail. I need to shorten the number of rings before incoming calls go to auto attendant day and night. I've tried changing some of the settings on the system "G" screen with no luck. As usual the manuals are of little help. Any help would be appr//wwted. Thanks in advance Tim

Use the H screen and list day ring ext,s Type L DR 1 to list all the ext #'s that line 1 rings on. Then check the G screen for ext fwd to H36.

Thank you for your response. The incoming lines do ring about six times then go to Auto Attendant announcement etc. My problem is that I want to change the ringing to two or thWGârings.
Thank you for your help

I guess your useing the VMS as your AA. If so find the ext that is fwd to H36 and adjust the no answer timer

Look at the Attn Recall Timer (System options) If this is set to NO the system follows the Orbit Recall timer. If this is option is set to Yes, then it follows the Station Recall Timer. If your 228 does not have the Attn Recall Timer option, then your system will follow the Orbit Recall timer.

If you are using rs232 to communicate with the vms, check the S screen in the vms. There is a setting just below the port extension number field that determines the number of rings before pickup.
The one thing that I love and hate about this system is that there are about ten ways to do things. You just have to figure out which way the guy before you did it.
If you can read this, you're in range.
