Anyone have experience with the TG4? I'm trying to find out if there is a "digital dialer" needed between the Vista and the TG4. ADI claims no, ADT says yes and Telguard is not sure.

No, the TG4 just transmits the signals from the built in digital dialer in the Ademco alarm panel.
Depending on how you have it programmed (stand alone or back-up mode), it will just pass the Vista's dialer straight through it to the land line. When the land line is missing (or stand alone mode with no land line available), it basically gives dial tone to the host alarm (making the host alarm think everything is normal) and it does the communicating over cellular.
