Has anyone had any luck with wireless a/v. I want to do this at home to bring my security cameras up on my main tv. I could run cable to it, but it will be a hassle. I was looking at something like this . Anyone ever try it or have a few suggestions

The only experience I have had with that style device is with older 900 MHz units and I was not impressed with the results.

I have used longer range 2.4 GHz units and have had interference from cordless phones and microwaves. I would recommend running a cable.

If you decide to use these devices and are using a wifi network at your home it is probably running at 2.4 GHz(make sure that you check), so you'll want to go with the 5.8 GHz unit to minimize interference.

Thanks Brian, that is what I was afraid of..

After I took a further look, turns out that when I first pulled the cable in (about six months ago) I actually pulled two rg 6 (direct tv) two cat5 and a 4 pair cat 3. So I have a few extra pairs to play with. I am going to use passive baluans on the second cat5 and call it done. I pulled an extra cat 5 to my bedroom tv as well so that one is ready to go. I forgot I pulled in the extra cable...talk about a nice surprise....thanks again

I'm sure someone asked why you were running all those extra cables at the time.

Hey Anthony - how are you? Now all you have to worry about is providing power to all those cams. hahahaha. I have been using the passive MuxLab baluns with some good results - the 500009 (BNC)and the 500021 (male RCA). I also like the power thru 500024 when I have the luxury of all 4-pair. I took your advice on this https://www.cctvcamerapros.com/CCTV-Video-Ground-Loop-Isolator-p/sp-g01.htm and should be receiving it on 3/31/09. I hope it gets rid of my "wave".

Hey hopefully it works for you. In my case the cameras are in place rg59 with 18/2(well one is, the rest are on the way) but it all goes to the basement. I just wanted to be able to pull the cams up on all the tv's in my house.

You could put a CELabs AV400 or AV700 (composite distribution amplifier which are relatively cheap) in the basement and get the video to any room using one pair and a 500021 on either end. I have done that and it looks great. The amp really helps. It has either 4 or 7 RCA female out with stereo audio(if you need it). The audio baluns require another pair. But you won't need baluns if you have spare coax going to the rooms.
