Since my last post was getting a bit off track. I wanted to start a new one. What type of DVR's and cameras are people using?

I have been using Nuvico and actually a few of the Cameras from Super Circuits Black line. Also use some Honeywell. DVR all depends on the clients budget but mainly Nuvico, Speco, and Honeywell, the recently thanks to some good pricing we have used a few samsung DVR's and so far so good. I have been taking a look at AXIS for a bit now and think I am ready to give them a shot on the IP side.

So what is everyone else using?

What do you think about Nuvico?

I have been using Speco - especially the "covert" wall mounted models (and some rack-mount TL series). The covert models look like an alarm panel or something, and go painlessly into people's garages which makes cabling easier, as you stay away from the inside of the house. Most of the cameras are viewing outdoor positions anyway. I like the software, the GUI, the event tracking when configured for motion detection, the fact that they can be viewed by Mac, PC, Blackberry, IPhone, Android, and Windows Mobile. Before that I installed Digimerge, Digital Watchdog, Everfocus (great DVRs), and a couple of others. I just recently tried some cameras from Monoprice. The high-res bullets with the many IRs really light up dark spaces. The domes are OK.

So far no trouble with Nuvico, rather stright foward. I have used the covert Speco....I like them...like you said easy to garage mount and drop on a network. Have you ever tried networking it using a wireless network adaptor?

I'm using Everfocus on a job next month. I think their quality has gone up a lot since the first one I installed where it took 3 units to get a working one...

Anthony - I never even thought of using a wireless network adapter.......would it work? that would solve an issue I have at one site. I just put in a sequencer because the internet access was three floors away from the potential DVR location.
