I was looking at that transformer, it's a good jumping off point.
That'd work something like this, if I'm not mistaken:
45 ohm line -->atlas xfmr-->25v xfrmr-->spkr
Once I called Valcom, they convinced me to abandon the idea of using 25V speakers at all. They recommend I use the V-LPT paging adapter to connect the 45 ohm line to a group of self-amplified speakers. Checking out the cut sheet for the V-LPT I also noticed that it says it can be connected to an amplifier, which is where I got the idea for the Crown amp.
I'm thinking a basic block diagram would be:
45ohm line-->VLPT-->self amplified speakers
or
45ohm line-->VLPT-->crown amp-->speakers
Thanks again

That will work as long as you have 4 conductor wires or power outlet near each speaker for power.

Sorry I fell behind on this one! Thanks for the help, metelcom.
The 45ohm output from you Valcom page control unit is meant to drive talkback speakers (45 ohm, non-amplified = hot output). The V-LPT will pad this signal and provide a line level output. You are correct in both scenarios using either self-amplified speakers or the Crown amp.
