We have a fire alarm system shared among 5 townhouses. Up until recently the outgoing alarm phone line was shared with residents lines which resulted in the fire alarm panel throwing telephone line trouble alarms. OK so far. We have ordered two dedicated phone lines to resolve this situation, but I ran across this article https://www.sandman.com/firealarm-bul.html describing the use of line loop regulators to stop the telephone line trouble alarms from shared phone lines. I am not a phone tech, and would appreciate any comments about the pros and cons of the approach described in the article. Thanks

your well beyond DIY troubleshooting here I suggest you get a tech to look at it for you a fire alarm is a important item and if there where a fire and the insurance company found you had been troubleshooting .....
I have a lot of lines being shared by alarm panels without trouble

What Skip said. More to the point, do you want to be responsible for someone's death, because the fire alarm didn't work?

are these actually phone lines from a phone company delivered over copper ?
a lot of alarm panels dont like the DT that's provided b cable company's vonage and the like
I have one customer that has the phone lines provided by the cable company but then had to go back to the telephone company for a couple of lines for the fire panel ...some saving huh ?

Had the same thing with a customer of mine. Their burglar alarm would not take the fake dialtone that OOMA puts out with their voip...so he had to get a pots line reinstalled.

Another option depending on local code Is a gsm Primary dialer with a dial Tone backup. Wireless first then copper. Worth asking the alarm company
I Swear I did not touch anything
