I am currently in school and trying to figure out the wiring to create a multiple zone paging solution with background music.

I have the following to work with, all Bogen products.
TPU-100B Amplifier
ZPM-3 Zone Paging Module
FMR Background music
2 PRSLSI Power
MBS1000A Mic
WMT-1A Matching Transformer
All Speakers have a T725 Matching Transformer for 70 or 25V connections.

My team has tried several variations in the ZPM-3 manual without success. Even trying to combine a few of the examples.

If anyone could help us succeed at this challenge I would be very grateful.

Isn't the point for you to show your competence and understanding of the subject , to work as a team to figure it out or not .

Just a bit more background then and maybe you will understand why I decided to ask for additional help.

There are 4 teams, we all are stuck, our teacher is not an integrated sound expert, the former teacher retired and he inherited the class, so he is as mystified as the students. We have all been trying for a week to get this to work, this is not an assignment given to me just last Friday.

So I did the smart thing and posted the question to a larger resource of people as any intelligent person would do. Not all of us are blessed with knowing everything. As a former boss told me once; "I don't expect you to know every answer but I do expect to be able to find every answer with other resources."

Would my post made a difference if I lied and said I was the in house IT guy and my boss tasked me with this.

Connect the ZPM to the telephone system per fig 1 in the ZPM manual for a loop start trunk. Pair 1 T / R.

Connect the ZPM to the amp and the speakers per fig 6 on page 5. Speakers go across pairs 22 / 23 / 24 (Z1, Z2, Z3)

Refer to programming in the ZPM manual and test it works so far, paging from a phone. You may need to set up zones as per page 11 before the PZM will do anything.

Connect the WTM1 as shown per fig 12 page 10.

Teh screened pair from the Mic to the paging amp is Micrphone red and black. The push to talk switch to EM1 EM2 pair 7 on the ZPM is microphone green and white.

You set the 25V/70V taps on the speakers to match the connections you use on the back of the amp (25V or 70V). Make sure all the speaker taps add up to less total watts than the amplifier.

Look at Figure 12, page 10 for inputs, speaker zones are Z1A & B, Z2A & B, Z3A & B. (https://www.bogen.com/products/pdfs/telephonepagepdfs/ZPM3m.pdf) This will mute the BGM in all zones, but to do otherwise, you need another 100 watt amp.

Start with the diagram on page 6 of your ZPM module. Pretty simple, you wire the PI and PO connections to the amp, then attach your speakers to the Z1, Z2 and Z3 terminals. You'll set up for 70 volts and that's the distrbution.

Input comes from diagrams in figure 1. You supply 24 volts DC and you can use a phone, key system trunk, or PBX loop start trunk for the input. You have to use this setup as you can't dial on a page out port :-)

BGM feeds into the BGM port, detailed in the manual.

Yes, because we hate IT "professionals", especially when they are tasked with something, more than sparkies.

There is a reason why you guys and your teacher haven't a clue. It's not something an electrician should get involved with. All the information you need is in that instruction sheet that Carl posted. If that is over your head I can't comment any more.
