Here's a fun one. I've got two sites that run a t1 for tie between them. We were having some problems with one of the channel banks, so the T has been bouncing in and out of service.
When it goes out, the keys I have on the phones as TIE keys [300(5)} light up. This is normal.
Here's what's not...
When I get the circuit back in service, they stay lit. I can hit one and get dial tone and make a call without a problem. But I have to reset the system to get the lights to go out.
Resetting the T1 card doesn't work. Neither does resetting the phone. Tried resetting the Station card, too.
Turned maintenance off/on in Ctrl-C/N (or M, I forget)
I even reset the channels individually.
No Diff.
Any thoughts anyone?
Thanks, Tylerpd1

Try this. Check the M screen. Make sure Disable Auto Fault is set to Y.

A 300 [5] is a group key the system thinks all the trunks are busy. did you look in the [c] screen at the status to see if they are still out of service. And you do not need to reset the system to turn off the LED go off hook on the phone and dial 7# for the test mode and press the key the led will go out. This only works at the phone you are testing.

thanks for the replies, I always turn auto fault off (Y) in my systems because it's just a pain. If there's a problem, I want a phone call.
I haven't been able to return to the site, other work has been keeping me away from there. I'll try the 7# thing.
This is just odd. When the lights are lit, the trunks are idle. I can use the lit key to make or take a call. The light just doesn't go out.
If I unplug the phone, they DO go out. As soon as I touch one, it lights up and stays lit after I end the call.
A little history: This system was hand packed two weeks ago when upgrading from ECPU to ACPU I defaulted it 3x and put a nice fat load of options on it before starting the old "stare and compare" process.
It's a single cabinet at one site and dual at the other. The one having problems is the single. There are two t1 cards in this cabinet. One power supply (I know, I know) 2-12pt sli cards 1-CO card 4 Digital Stn Cards
That's pretty much it.
For some reason, the system is not updating these keys.
I'm going to go bang my head on the well.
Back shortly.
