I'm attempting to troubleshoot which card is bad. The KSU powers up but the stations only show "TAPI-160 V1.1 8/22/95" as though the system is initialing and won't go any further. I've attempted to pull out each card, reseat them into their slots and restart the KSU but no change.

As another test I pulled out all of the cards and only left the ACPU and a station card seated in and was going to call between stations but the phones still show the message "TAPI-160 V1.1 8/22/95". If system function correctly this should work, correct?

The ACPU DS1, DS2 and DS3 (solid green), DS4 and DS5 (blink red) and DS6 is solid red. With each light according to the system manual says the system is functioning correctly.

When all devices are plugged in the Executone Software says the system is IDLE and doesn't seem to have any errors. Is there anything else I can check? help

When pulling out cards, you must leave ACPU and VCM installed for system to funcion. So,leave those two plus any digital station card. Also - check the F screen - I've seen situations where all of the port assignments were blown out of the configuration. A phone won't work without an assignment in the F screen - and you'd get just what you're getting...

I put the EVCM back in but all the phones still show the default message "TAPI-160 V1.1 8/22/95". Went and checked the F screen and that looked ok, the system shows idle.

Is it a 228 cabinet?
One power supply or 2?
How many station cards have you tried more than 1?
Try calling in from an outside line and see if the system shows the call on the C screen. For that matter does the C screen show the number of extensions installed?

It's a 228 cabinet and 1 power supply. I've tried 3 station cards in 3 different slots in the KSU.

I tried calling into the KSU and while viewing the C screen it does not show the incoming line.

What else may I check or what could be wrong?

Do You have a Backup of the system? and what Options are on the CPU?

If so, try Defaulting it and see what You get, If I remember correctly the M160 phones needed to be on a newer version station card?(or maybe not)

Do you have any other phones(Different than M160)

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel..

I'm guessing you don't have a spare ACPU or EVCM card?Lightening can be very unpredictable as to what it may take out but it sounds like a common card like a EVCM or ACPU.

All of the options (DCMS ANI 120 CA1 ACD CID TIME) version Eclipse 3.0.0 3/19/01 show as though they are still in memory or recognized.

The 160's have been working up to this point however I tried the M12, M18, M64's and none of them are working. The tele's with a display show a grayed out display that would usually show time and date.

I wish I had a hot spare ACPU or EVCM I would try a swap. Any other suggestions?

And there are definitely extension numbers shown on all station ports in the F screen?

It sounds like the EVCM, but it could be a power supply.
Had a vxc in second side of cabinet and all phones worked, but voicemail kept reseting. Replaced secon power supply and all was well.

Good Luck!!

If all else fails, use a BFH.
