Does anyone have the manual for the 1A2 551 KSU? I am having an issue and I beleave it to be wiring with the interupter.

I have both WE and GTE but none of them tell you anything about the internal wiring. All the internal wiring was wire wrapped in those days and it should be easy to spot if anyone played with it.

John: I believe I have the manual at the office but I won't have access to it until Tuesday. Is it a 551A, B or C? Also, if there's a specific question you have about what's not working, I may be able to just give you the answer. Most issues with Western Electric products had to do with improper option strapping.

Have you changed the Interrupter? It is more likely the interrupter than the wiring.

I found the manual but it doesn't really have much in the way of internal wiring diagrams. If you want, I can copy the pages and fax them to you. Just send me a private message with a number where I can fax it.

What's the problem? Wiring doesn't just go bad, look for bent pins or broken wiring. I don't think the 1A2 book had the WECO wiring in them, you'd have to find a schematic drawing of the KSU to get that.

I faxed him the pages from the manual that give as much information as possible. I looked at the line card option page and it gave more usable information so I sent that too. Maybe that will be enough to get him by.

Thanks for the fax it helped I traced it down to a strap that was missing for interupter power. shown in the notes on page 10.
