One of the techs I work with and I are having a dispute over who made the first solid state interupter for a 584 panel . I say it is Sanbar and he is stating it was IT&T . Can anyone straighten us out ?

I am pretty sure it was San/Bar. ITT didn't make it until the K601 KSU came out in 1985 and I think that San/Bar was making them before that. Now if you really want to muck up the debate, throw Plant Equipment in there since I think they are the real grand daddy of solid state interrupters, in fact I think that's all they ever made.

You took my word as the official answer? Man, that was risky at best. I like to think I know what I am talking about, but it has been over 15 years since those things were even discussed around my office!

No the shoebox was the 551, per memory. I'll look it up later and post back if I'm wrong.
