I recently acquired a spare interrupter for a 551C shoebox. The spare was mfg (in 1980) by Rapidprint with the WECO part number of KS-19175 L5. The original was mfg (in 1981) by North American (??) with the WECO part number of KS-19175 L1. Both have 10VAC motors, are plug compatible and appear to work ok in the KSU.
Question: Does the L1 or L5 on the end of the WECO part number simply distinguish who the Mfg was? Just curious.

List numbers were generally revisions or variations of the original part. For example, an AC power extension cord had the same KS number with different list numbers to correspond to the different lengths. As for the interrupter, I really can't say for sure since the higher number was made a year earlier. You are probably correct. There were several manufacturers of those units.
