I was just going by a six line ringer I installed years ago. It appeared to be nothing more than six capacitors that kept the lines separate by blocking the dc voltage and allowing the ringing voltage to pass through to a single ringer.
There may have been some components on the other side of the circuit board that I couldn't see. But I was dealing with CO ringing voltage instead of 24 volts.
I always planned on trying to build one if I needed another one because I was told it was an expensive little deal.
