Curiousity on my part: Was there ever a KTU card equivalent (it'd probably have been an 80-contact double-height) of the Valcom V-119RTHF talkback intercom module?

If so, who made it? I'm just looking to save a bit of space on my backboard, if possible.

Thanks.

Bruce:

I do know that Teltone made an 80-contact card that was a direct replacement for the WECO 494A. It was definitely a double-height card. Tone Commander made one as well. I really don't think that Valcom ever got into that area of the business since they weren't ever a big Bell supplier. They were, and continue to be more of a supplier to interconnects, not telcos.

If, and I mean IF Valcom made a card for this slot in a 642A panel, it would have been a traditional buzzer/bell intercom unit comparable to the 494A. Any 80-contact intercom cards that afforded voice announce would have been those used in the Comkey 718, 1434 or 2152 systems. Granted, the WECO 424C or 494A were regular dial select intercom cards that are compatible with Comkey. I've never seen anything other than a WECO card in a Comkey system. I really don't know if this functionality can be attained via traditional 6XX series panels.

Well, there's a ten dollar response with not much of an answer to your question.
