without getting too complicated, you just have to set the phone to forward to voice mail. If the line is set to ring on that phone only, any call hitting that phone will follow the path set in the G screen for that extension.
If you want it to go to a different voice mail than the phone's box, you'll have to ring it to a phantom extension and then set a pickup group and place keys accordingly.
There's like five ways to do this.

Once again, I haven't explained myself properly. This is an individual who is in an executive position, and already has a phone that is set up with an extension with voicemail. This person wants a private co to ring to her phone only with voicemail along with the features that are already set up on her phone. So she wants the extension to be 3501 which rings to her secretary for screening and voicemail at the 3501 extension as well. She also wants to be able to give specific people a co number that they can reach her directly with voicemail to that co as well. I know how to get the co to her phone button by assigning the co to that button. What I am not sure of is how do I get the co to ring to her phone only, and then to have a seperate voicemail to that number as well. Can this even be done without giving her a seperate phone? Thanks in advance for all of your expertise. Dave

sure, If you have a spare single line extension in the system, you can do it like this. say for example, the spare sli ext is 3700 ring the line to ext 3700 and 3501 set the forwarding timer slightly lower on 3700 than 3501 in the G screen. When the line rings, it will ring in two places. If not picked up, it will go to the voice mail on the sli extension rather than the other one. You can then put a second voice mail key on 3501 for 3700 [i.e. 830(3700)]
If I'm not really catching your drift properly, please, by all means, scold me and I'll pm you my cell number so that i can assist over the phone instead.

The question that I have now is how do I get the co line to forward to the voicemail on busy and no answer. Can I just forward in the "G" screen? I know what to do with extensions to get them forwarded, but am foggy as how to forward the co line to the extension. Also how do I get the co to ring just to the 3501 digital phone only? Thanks, Dave

Another of doing it, take the spare sli, ext 3700, put it in a pick up group by itself. put a key 9xx(the pick up group of x-3700) on x-3501, with no sub code. Any time line 14 rings x-3700, it will also ring x-3501. Set the forward timer on x-3700 to whatever value you want. It isn't affected by x-3501 state. You haveto realize that when x-3501 is on the phone, and a call comes in ringing x-3700, it will keep ringing x-3501, until the timer kicks in, the person hangs up or x-3501 answers the call.

I guess the simple answer here is a co line does not "forward" by itself. It's the stations that do the forwarding and I would do it exactly how you were told with the extra sli extension forwarded to a mailbox and a ringing pickup key on the desk set.You should then be able to set the sli mailbox to forward the message to the digital desktop's mailbox after any messages have been taken.

You could try just giving her extension access to that CO line and no one else. You could also set her extension to ring on that line and no one else's. The same VMS plan would apply to her extension no matter what CO line the call comes in on.

velotech that won't work if this executive needs a separate voicemail which was indicated earlier.
