Hi all, I'm not a phone tech, I do tech support for a music on hold company. One of our clients has their hold message playing from the phones and they have an old Executone 1232 phone system. I'm pretty sure all I'll have to do is walk him through disabling BGM for the phones, but I can't seem to find any information on how to do so with this system. Can anyone point me in the right direction with instructions or documentation? Thanks.

Background Music is * on an IDS, but you have an Encore 1232 (probably Encore+ actually). Does the customer have a user guide? It should be in there... Mike

Well, the information I'm getting from them is that it is an Encore 1232, they don't know if it is a plus or not, but I have them checking that. They also do not know if they still have the user guide, but I'm having them search for that as well.
For the sake of thoroughness I'm also having them try the solution for an IDS just to see if it works. Currently I have them with the affected phones' volumes turned down, but I don't want to leave them like that.

After reading my manual from front to back and back to front, I didn't see any mention of BGM for the Encore.
Maybe it's an Equity III ?
Try Intercom 80 and work up to 89. One of them has to work !
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel..
