Another thread got me thinking again about something: How many company names can we recall that made 1A2 compatible equipment, other than the "Big Four" [WECO, ITT, AE and NT]? Over the years, there have been names mentioned in this section that have been long forgotten [at least by me].

Stromberg-Carlson and Comdial made the Maxcom sets. Some of the best looking phones ever made, IMO.

Those 6 are the only ones that come to mind, but I'll keep thinking.
There were some oddball outfits that made one-offs, but I can't think of names right now.

Viking made a funny electronic box that supported 2554 phones but it was short lived. I still have the manual somewhere.

Ahhh! I was thinking of sets. Yes indeed all of those and more. And yes Plant Equipment made 1A2 turrets as did IPC and....and...lots of folks.
Call the Home and make me a reservation. My memory is gone.

Tellabs? Mitel? (I think they made pulse-to-tone converters for intercoms).

A friend who worked for TIE reminds us that TIE made a true 1A2 system, in addition to their similar skinny wire technologies. Also, he mentioned a company called Proctor.

I remember using Proctor exclusion modules on the 10a1/10a2 systems.
Tellabs made tons of DTMF converts in Central office step by step(sxs).
It took rotary dial line and converted to DTMF.
Proctor made loop extenders and OPX Modules, which i still have couple of opx modules.I think you could get 5 or 6 miles on dry cable pair. according to the loop resistance.
