When we needed more pairs in a 25 pair cable for buzzers or external keys going to a 565 or 2565 we would unscrew the A2/1,A3/1,A4/1 and A5/1 leads off the board in the set and loop a wire from the A1/1 thru A2/1, A3/1, A4/1 and A5/1 screw terminals on the board.
Forty six years and still fascinated with Telecommunications!

Dean, I just pretend that Jeff is just a re-incarnation of some phone guy that passed shortly after WW2.

She tells me that computers and the internet are way faster than old TTYs and that communication on a broadband connection is almost instantanious, and much quieter to boot. I tell her that yes, this is true, BUT, with TTY, you had time to get a cup of coffee between the time you sent then received your message, you HEARD when it came in, you had the TACTILE sensation of ripping the slightly oily paper from the platten, and you SMELLED the warm cozy aroma of that mysterious skunk oil that was used to keep the TTY lubricated.
