Hi Again,
Once again, I am at the well of wisdom of the phone tech forum!
Anyway, I am finishing cleaning and wiring my 565HK keyset, and have the cord connected, the handset connected, the dial connected, etc. What I need to know is where do I connect the 10V buzzer (two blue leads) so that I can use this keyset with a Melco intercom unit as well as with the KSU that provides 90V station ring current.
Thankyou again!
Joe

The Yellow / Orange pair was what we always used for the buzzer. As I recall, the two wires are mounted next to dial (on the left, when looking from the front) This allowed the buzzer to be mounted alongside the dial using one of the dial mounting screws.
I seem to remember some old timers telling me that Yellow/Blue was used at one time, but in my experience, it was always Yellow/Orange.
The Yellow /Slate pair was always used for the bell.

I agree with Sam, some times you had to use just one wire (Yellow/Orange or Orange/Yellow) for the signal and then ground for the other lead of the buzzer.
I had one customer with a 6-btn set that had two of her buttons for BLF, a PC-4B speaker phone and a Panasonic Eas-a-Phone (dialer). This took a bit of time to replace when static developed on her set.

I collect and restore old communication technology from the days when most of it was done with vacuum tubes and relays... the kind of thing that would survive a nearby lightning strike or XXX class solar flare. I am also into Teletypes and am working with an organization trying to do something similar to C*Net except that the comms would be like the old Telex system. As far as being old, well, I'm getting there, alas...

OLDFONMAN, welcome to the forum.
If you stick around, you will soon see that lots and lots of people are into old dial phones. As Joe said, there is nothing like a phone that is still working when all the cheap plastic stuff is a smoldering ruin.

I love my old phones. I display them but only keep one actually plugged in. A connection to simpler times perhaps? I even enjoy my old wind up Victrola!
