I have worked on ProtegeVoice systems (aka Simplicity)for years. Just encountered something weird with this past time change I have not experienced before.

When changing the time using DTMF programming, you must also enter the date to complete the process.

When entering 2007 and saving, the system responds or recogizes 2007 as "1997" in the audio confirmation. It has not done this before. This system was Y2K compliant and in the past 6 years it always recognized a 200X year.

No, we have not yet tried a date change or confirmation via ProComm or Hyperterminal as a test to see what happens.

Systems seem to be operating fine for now.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Is there a work-around?
Always something.

Thanks!

The function works. The system date becomes 2007, just the prompt is not there. Once it is set the end user should not notice. I do not believe the year plays in the envelope information.

Also, the Simplicity for Coral and Ice/K3 voice mail may have a similar issue.

That's what we were told and it is not true, you will have issuses if you have a schedule set up in the voice mail, the days do not match up. The fix is to set the year to 2001.

Also be aware of this problem: We had one account that set the time and of course they called and told us about the 1997 problem and told us that all saved messages were deleted. These voice mails have max save time of a message of 999 days, setting the date to 1997 or 2001 wipes out all saved messages.

If you connect to the voice mail with procomm you can change the time by bring the voice mail out to the dos prompt and then type time and correct the time
