Ok, when you hit 9 it takes you to an open trunk/outside line. Is there a way to say which phones open which trunk, when hitting 9? To elaborate, we have 3 different companies using this sprint protégé system. I would like to separate certain phones to only open their trunks when hitting 9. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

how many lines per company , 9 is just accessing dial 9 trunk group

I'm not familiar with the sprint switch but in some applications we have been able to create dial 8 and dial 7 groups

so company a's lines are accessed by 9 ,

b's by dialing 8

c.s by dialing 7

and then restrict each company's access to there trunk group only .

or give them line appearance for their lines on the phone

the best way (if they do not need to access the other lines) is to tenant the system, this would also let them have separate operators and day/night modes

You can separate companies by using tenant set up or you can leave the lines the way they are and go into extension programming and allow each company access to only their lines under trunk access.

Thank you all for your reply. Right now we have everyone in tenent group 1. I really dont want to separate others into tenent 2 and 3 and so on, as it would led to a lot more work. To simplify this, is there a way to say which trunk is selected first when hitting 9? Or maybe where to change the order of which trunk is select 1st, 2nd, and so on?

Thanks

What skip said will work on the protege, then restrict lines to phones that should not have access. You can select first, last or random when someone dials 9,8, or 7. This is a global program so whatever you select will be the same for 9,8,7.

in ext programming go into line access and just say no to the trunks that you do not want that ext to access, 9 will still work.
