Thank you so much Walter.

To clarify, your saying the DDEI card will take the DEI cards ext, and then I would just need to move those ext back over to DEI card? Otherwise can you explain what a DIR swap is, and how to perform one?

Thank you,

Joe

walt,
i believe the ddei uses b1 channels for 1-8 and the b2 channels for 9-16.
it is the daem cards that you had to b1 port 1, b2 port 1

Ok...I finally had time to try this...At first it kept telling me that the new ddei card "failed", when looking it up in configuration. Had to restart and remove/reinsert 2-3 times before it was happy. I then ran into a major problem. The dei card had the two voice mail ext (295,297) on it. Now our V.M is down and I cant figure out how to fix it. I have transfered the original 8 exts from the new ddei to the dei, but still no luck. I also made sure to set the two v.m. ext to v.m. in "port type". When hitting v. mail (feature key is 430) on the phones I get "no legal number". PLEASE HELP. Thank you in advance.

ddei will not support vmail, you need to have the ports on a dei card.

Actually thanks to Martin, and a little tinkering on my part we both work through this and figured it out. My only problem now is getting a regular phone to work on the AEI card that is now in slot 12.
